“It's very important that we re-learn the art of resting and relaxing. Not only does it help prevent the onset of many illnesses that develop through chronic tension and worrying; it allows us to clear our minds, focus, and find creative solutions to our problems.” - Thich Nhat Hanh

   Restorative Yoga – Tāmata Yoga

Regenerate, Rejuvenate & Restore your tinana, hinengaro and wairua (body, mind and spirit) with this beautiful practice.

This 60 minute class includes regenerative postures to stretch and strengthen the body and restorative postures to relax and restore the whole of our being.

Restorative yoga reduces cortisol, blood sugar levels and blood pressure. It is the perfect practice for peri-menopause and menopause, and for all of us to reduce stress, tension and anxiety.

Tāmata means to refresh, restore, revitalise, and it also means to cultivate or till the soil.  When we practice Tāmata yoga we are restoring and regenerating the whole of ourselves.  Through the practice of showing up for ourselves to do the mahi, we are cultivating self-care.  Just as we till the soil to improve the quality of it, this practice supports us in replenishing and creating more goodness in the gardens of our own bodies.
