Bliss Balls

GF DF V (vegan)

These bliss balls are super yummy, they’re healthy and great for an energy boost, and they can be nut free if you need them to be.

I don’t have an exact recipe but it goes something like this.
2 cups of dates (soak for 10 minutes in hot water)  then joosh them with a stick blender or food processor (do them last after nuts and seeds) You can also use raisins, figs, apricots, cranberries, any dried fruit really, bliss balls are super adaptable to whatever you have in the cupboard.
1 cup any nuts (can be mixed nuts)  joosh them with a stick blender or in a food processor to chop pretty fine
Small handful pumpkin seeds  (you don’t need to have all the seeds, recipe can just be fruit and nuts, or fruit and seeds if you want nut free)
Small handful sesame seeds
Small handful sunflower seeds
2 Tblsp Chia Seeds
1/2 tsp vanilla essence (optional)
1Tblsp coconut oil (optional)
Put all of the seeds into a stick blender or food processor and joosh them too, they don’t take too much.  You can use any of these seeds or all of them together, so don’t worry if you don’t have all of them in the cupboard.
Drain the dates, joosh them, and then mix everything together, it should be quite sticky but firm. If they are too firm, add more dates, if too mushy, add more nuts and seeds.
Make into balls, then roll in either desiccated coconut or cocoa.  You can refrigerate for an hour or so to firm them up, and then they keep in an airtight container for about a week, but they won’t last that long!
